Shake it up

Sometimes I just get that feeling… the feeling of being stuck. Life is good, life is even great, but I start to sense that it’s time to try something new. It doesn’t always have to be a major life change. It could be a new hobby, a new idea to research, or a lifestyle change. I need to feel inspired by something…

So when I’m stuck, I have a few go-to techniques I use to get that energy flowing again.

1. Spend time in nature- this works to help control anxiety (at least for me personally), in addition to providing all kids of examples of abundance, creativity, and perfection. Go watch a sunset and try to feel instantly uplifted by all of the magical colors.

2. Exercise- it only takes one workout to instantly improve your mood. Just moving in any fashion will help, but I recommend putting on your favorite songs and literally shaking it up!

3. Do something new or challenging- overcoming a fear or stimulating the brain with new things will get your confidence and creativity moving in the right direction. Learn a new skill, hike a new trail, or change your look.

4. Meditation- I don’t do this one nearly enough! But every time I make time, I’m always impressed at how great I feel afterwards.

5. Do something nice- volunteer, send a thank you note, check in with an old friend, leave an extra large tip, smile at everyone… positivity will attract more positivity.

Above all else, I’ve learned to be patient with myself and trust that the Universe will line things up for me when I’m ready for them. So I’m gonna go cue up some of my favorite dance songs and shake this new lavender hair!! (Yes, I was scared to change my hair color after 3yrs of being pink hued!)

How do you recognize when you feel “stuck”? What are your go-to tools to shake things up? Know that there’s a whole new world of possibilities just waiting to embrace you if you open up to it. Get shaking!!
